Why should I use Lifeogeny?

Lifeogeny is a mobile application that connects you to experiences that speak to your interests, dreams, and desires. Our goal is to not just inform you of events happening in your area but to inspire you to pursue life with the understanding that experiences become an ingrained part of your identity, thus enriching your life and inspiring your life's pursuits.

Lifeogeny provides you with another way to connect, explore, and learn, furthering your connection with your community through experiences. This is the foundational principle to the Lifeogeny platform.

How old do I need to be in order to download, register, and use the Lifeogeny application?

You are required to be at least 13 years old, or older, to register and use the Lifeogeny application.

What are some of the advantages to using Lifeogeny?

We believe that Lifeogeny offers two primary advantages:

First, with Lifeogeny, you can stay connected and informed so that you don't miss out on the experiences you are craving!! While connections using other platforms as well as email has its advantages, for most of us, the volume of email connections we have made fill our inboxes or our "feeds" and thus, put us at risk of missing an experience simply because we just did not know. By connecting with the application, our hope is that you have an easy place to go to stay informed about experiences in your areas of interest.

Second, Lifeogeny makes it simple to connect with friends and family around experiences, inspire others to seek out experiences, as well as keep track of experiences you are attending and Hosts you are following.

What is a "Host"?

A Host is any business, service, venue, individual, church or other third party who offers an experience, or series of experiences, and seeks to keep you informed through the Lifeogeny application so that staying connected is simple and up to date.

Does it cost anything to use or join?

No! For users of the application, access is completely free.

How is the content generated for the Lifeogeny application?

All content as seen in the application is generated by the Host. Lifeogeny does not investigate or vet Hosts. Lifeogeny is not responsible for any claims associated with the description of the Hosts’ experiences.

A Host may offer experiences which require the Host to have an up-to-date regulatory authorization, license, or certification. Lifeogeny does not verify, validate, or collect evidence of any regulatory authorization, license, or certification from any Host. You should investigate as you deem necessary or appropriate before purchasing any Host’s experience.

Hosts are solely responsible for the care and quality of the experiences, including products and other goods used or sold as a function of the experience.

HOW TO USE LIFEOGENY

What are the preference setting categories, and how do I select or change them?

Lifeogeny utilizes a comprehensive list of primary and secondary categories in order to better filter the experiences you see. During the onboarding process, you are asked to select three, however, once within the application, we recommend that you expand your selections to incorporate all the areas you are interested in.

To edit or expand your preferences once logged into the mobile application, touch the profile icon located in the top right-hand corner of the screen. This will take you to the primary category list. From here, touch the Edit option. You can opt to remove a category by touching the radial button. This button will turn red indicating that it is marked to be removed. To add a category, find More Interests. The rest of the categories are listed here. Simply tap the plus sign and the category will be added.

Also, you can further narrow your areas of interests using the sub-categories. When you select a primary category, the sub-categories default to all being selected. To edit, simple tap the icon and remove those areas you are not interested in.

What is the Upcoming Feed vs. the Host Feed vs. the Personal or "My Lifeogeny" Feed?

The Upcoming Feed: Once a Host has pushed an experience to the application, an experience "card" will appear under "Upcoming" as shown in the application. Each experience card will contain basic information about the experience including a general description, the dates, prices, as well as where you will be able to RSVP to an experience. Experience cards are arranged by date, and they are filtered based on the preferences you have set. You can search keywords to view only those experiences that fit your particular search criteria.

The Host Feed: The Host feed was designed to provide you a way to seek out and learn about those who bring you life's experiences. Each Host is represented with a Host "card" where you will find general information about a Host as well as any highlights or information a Host wishes you to know about them or their experiences. You can easily search the Host feed to find Hosts that specifically interest you. However, Lifeogeny does not apply filters so that all Hosts receive equal exposure. We encourage you to follow Host's so that you can then specifically view updates from your favorite Hosts through your Following or My Hosts tab.

The My Lifeogeny Feed: As you RSVP to experiences, you will be building your Personal Feed.

How do I use the search feature?

The search functionality allows you to simple type in a keyword or description. The information you see in either the Experience feed or the Host feed, depending on which feed you have searched, will be filtered based on the criteria you enter. It is activated and deactivated by tapping the looking glass icon located in the top right corner of your screen.

How do I invite friends to an experience or share the experience with others?

Each experience card contains the option to Invite or Share the experience. The invite feature allows you to send an email regarding the experience. From the email, the experience can easily be added to everyone's calendar. The Share feature allows you to either email or text.

What does it mean to RSVP to an experience?

When you touch RSVP on an experience card, you are given the option to either Purchase Now or Purchase Later. If you opt to Purchase Now, you will be forwarded to a ticketing system via a link that the Host added to the experience card. Whether your transaction is completed or not, the experience will be flagged as Attending, and a green check mark on the card will indicate your attendance. When you select Purchase Later, the experience will be flagged as Pending, and a purple question mark will indicate your tentative RSVP.

What happens when I opt to "Purchase Later"?

When you select Purchase Later from the RSVP feature, the experience will be flagged as Pending and a purple question mark will indicate your tentative RSVP. You will be prompted with a message asking, Still Want To Go? If you opt to attend and select the Purchase Now function, the experience will be marked as Attending.

How do I track what I have RSVP'd to?

You can track what you have RSVP'd to, past and present, either as Attending or Pending through you’re My Lifeogeny Feed.

How do I follow a Host, and Why?

Following a Host is simple! Touch the standard following icon located on the Host's card, and the Host will be added to your Following. We encourage you to follow Hosts as soon as you have a meaningful experience with that Host so that you do not forget about them. This will ensure you don't miss out on experiences curated by that particular Host in the future.

Where do I see only the Hosts that I have chosen to follow?

You will find Hosts you are specifically following using the Following menu option.

Are Hosts filtered out based on my Preferences Set?

No. Lifeogeny does not apply the category selections to the Host Feed. This ensures that we don't filter out a Host you may want to connect with. You can build your own filtered or personal Host Feed as you follow Hosts.

What is the "Featured" menu option?

When you tap the Featured icon on your menu, you will be taken to Lifeogeny's featured Upcoming Experiences and featured Hosts. At Lifeogeny, our goal is not only to enable you to seek out and find the experiences and experience providers you know, but also to help you find experiences and experience providers that you didn't even know you wanted to know about.

What is the "Value" menu option?

At Lifeogeny, we understand that finding great experiences on a budget can be tough. Our goal is to provide you an easy-to-use feed that filters all experiences that are $30 or less, making it easy to find inspirations that fit your budget.

What is the "This Week" menu option?

We understand that life gets busy, and you may not always be able to plan far in advance. Using the This Week feed, you can easily see what great experiences are on deck for the week so that you do not miss out!

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

What is the difference between a "Free Experience" and a "Paid Experience?"

The application is a platform through which "Hosts" (a) offer entry into an experience at no cost to you ("Free Experience") or (b) offer entry into an experience at a cost to you with payment collected through a third party other than Lifeogeny ("Paid Experience").

How do I cancel my purchase?

If you purchased a "Paid Experience" thru a third party payment system, please refer to the Terms of Use, Cancelations & Refunds policy of that third party. Lifeogeny is not responsible for issuing refunds or handling cancelations for the "Paid Experiences." If the experience is a "Free Experience," please send an email to the Host and notify them of your cancellation. Cancellations are not required, but are a courtesy to the Host.

What happens if I show up for a curated experience and the Host does not show up?

Lifeogeny does not own or claim responsibility for any experience offered through the site, as Lifeogeny is solely a central database of experiences offered by Hosts. Hosts are given the ability to monitor the RSVP's to their experiences and are responsible for communicating with those who are attending their experience. However, please email us at feedback@lifeogeny.com to notify us of this situation so the complaint is registered and can be reviewed.

What happens if I have a bad experience with a Host?

Descriptions of the Host Experiences, listed on the application in any way, are provided by the Host. Lifeogeny does not investigate or vet Hosts. Lifeogeny is not responsible for any claims associated with the description of the Host Experiences.

A Host may offer experiences which require the Host to have an up-to-date regulatory authorization, license, or certification. Lifeogeny does not verify, validate, or collect evidence of any regulatory authorization, license or certification from any Host. You should make whatever investigation you deem necessary or appropriate before purchasing from the Host Experience.

Hosts are solely responsible for the care and quality of the experiences, including products and other goods used or sold as a function of the experience. However, please email us at feedback@lifeogeny.com to notify us of this situation so the complaint is registered and can be reviewed.

How do I cancel my free user account?

If you wish to close your mobile application user account, please email Lifeogeny at communications@lifeogeny.com. Simple put "Cancel Account" in the subject and provide a brief comment in the body of the email. Your feedback is appreciated as we seek to improve our user experience.
